GOINS

STUART, Va. — Mr. Franklin Roosevelt Goins, 77, of Stuart, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2010, at Pioneer Hospital in Stuart. Mr. Goins was born in Patrick County on Aug. 20, 1932, to the late Euel W. and Princess Thompson Goins. He retired from the Barber Hosiery Mill and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Goins is survived by three sisters, Peggy Goins Gray of Mount Airy, Catherine and a special brother-in-law John Smith of Ararat and Juanita “Tootie” Jarrell of Middletown, Ohio; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Jay and Gay Goins of Mount Airy, Bobby and Mickey Goins of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Herbert Goins of Oakwood; and a brother-in-law, Ronald Hawks of Mount Airy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Goins was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel Phillips Goins; a sister, Mozelle Hawks; and three brothers, Allen, Charles and Grover Goins. A graveside service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 1, 2010, at Skyline Memory Gardens by the Rev. Dean Eaton.
