FANCY GAP, Va. — Mr. Joseph Columbus (J.C.) Guynn, 99 and 8 months, of 2202 Lighting Ridge Road, Fancy Gap, widower of Mrs. Mary Haynes Guynn, passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at Golden Living Center in Mount Airy. Mr. Guynn was born June 6, 1910, in Carroll County. He was a retired farmer and was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Surviving are nine grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Mr. Guynn was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Helen Osborne; and three sons, John Franklin Guynn, Joe Guynn and Emmett Guynn. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Oak Grove Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Emmett Crotts. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
