MOUNT AIRY — Ms. Mildred Faye McHone Watson, 66, of 236 Badgett Ave., Mount Airy, passed away Monday, March 1, 2010, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennifer Love. She was born April 8, 1943, in Surry County to Frances Hall McHone and the late Foy McHone Sr. She was a retired beautician having worked last at Fantastic Sam’s in King and was a member of the Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Jennifer and Adam Love of Mount Airy and Robin W. Shelton of Mount Airy; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard Todd and Tabitha Watson of Pilot Mountain and Brian Dale Watson and fiancée Tina Dixon of King; her mother, Frances Hall McHone of Mount Airy; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaye and Richard Higgs and Joan and Jackie Wood of Mount Airy; and a brother and two sisters-in-law, Foy McHone Jr. and Susan and Rita McHone, all of Mount Airy. In addition to her father, Ms. Watson was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie McHone. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 4, 2010, at Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Butch Holder. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
