The filing period for county office ends tomorrow at noon, and yesterday only one person filed for county office.
Frank Prince of Ararat filed paperwork to run for the district 2 seat of the Surry County Board of Education. He will run against incumbent Sue Stone of Pilot Mountain, who filed earlier this month to run for re-election.
The district 2 seat encompasses communities in Eldora, Longhill, Pilot Mountain, and the northwest and southwest regions of the county.
