The live auction event raised money for the local Habitat for Humanity to continue to build houses for those in need of affordable housing.
Mike Hutchens was the auctioneer for the event.
Four room sets, including a sitting room, bedroom, baby room and living room were auctioned off to the highest bidder.
The sitting room included pieces such as a bookshelf and ottoman. Bids started off at $200.
“It’s only money and you might as well spend it here,” said Hutchens.
The set was sold to Carol Hiatt for $285.
The baby room included a crib, a rocking cradle, a chair, a chest of drawers and a Lane cedar chest. Opening bids started at $200. Since no one bid on the set, Habitat Executive Director Joe Dellinger bid on the set and won. He said the set would remain at the store for sale.
The bedroom set was donated by Ligna Usa Inc., and included a queen size bed and matching vanity. The opening bid was $500 and the set was eventually won by Don Brookshire for $700. The set was valued at $4,500.
The living room included a recliner, couch, chest, and entertainment center and new Vizo TV donated by WalMart. The set was eventually won by Tom Fawcett for $500.
ReStore is a store where construction materials, furniture and gently-used appliances are sold below retail value. Money raised goes to Habitat.
Melissa Tickle, ReStore manager, said sales throughout the store were up quite a bit Saturday because so many more shoppers visited the establishment for the sale.
