DOBSON — To close out the week, another candidate filed for the district 4 seat of the Surry County Board of Education.

Tony Lowe, 43, of Mount Airy, filed for the fourth district seat. James Allan Jessup of Dobson and incumbent Brian Gates of Dobson also filed this month to run for the position.

At the state level, Keith Gardner of Hickory filed yesterday to run against incumbent Virginia Foxx for the Republican spot in the race for the U.S. House of Representatives district 5 seat.
