Sales totaled 493 head, including cattle (458), goats (32) and hogs (3) during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.

Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:

n Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $50-$62.50; cutter and boning, $44.50-$65.50; canner and low cutter, $39-$49.

n Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $58-$65.50; 1,500 pounds and up, $63.50-$79.50.

n Stock cows: too few.

n Cow/calf pairs: none.

n Baby calves: none.

n Feeder steers and bulls: 300-400 pounds, (M1) $113-$122, (small frame) $84-$99.50; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $98-$111; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $87-$101.50; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $82-$95.

n Feeder heifers: 300-400 pounds, (M1) $90-$101.75, (small frame) $76-$82; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $91-$100, (small frame) $80-$89; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $83.50-$91.25, (small frame) $78-$78.50; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $78.50-$82.75.

n Goats: kids, $12-$90; others, $30-$85.
