DOBSON — Although the Surry County Board of Elections has seen a lag in candidates filing in the past two days, a few candidates have filed for regional and national offices.
Ricky Bowman filed for re-election to the district attorney office for district 17-B. Bowman, a Democrat, filed on Wednesday.
Also on Wednesday, Charles Neaves filed to run again for the district court judge seat that he now holds.
Ken Lewis, a Democrat from Chapel Hill, filed on Wednesday for the United States Senate seat now held by Richard Burr, a Republican. Three other candidates also have filed so far for this office: Marcus Williams, Democrat; Edward Burks, Republican; and Michael Beitler, Libertarian.
