DOBSON — The Dobson Board of Commissioners will hear a presentation of the audit for the 2008-09 fiscal year during its monthly meeting today at 6 p.m. at Town Hall.

The audit presentation will be made following an open forum for public comments.

Some discussion has been held during the past few months about the town formally taking over operations of the Dobson Town Cemetery, and during its meeting tonight, commissioners will consider a resolution to that effect and the creation of a Board of Cemetery Trustees.

A renewal of interim financing for the Mount Airy Interconnection Project will be discussed by the board, as will the declaration of some town property as surplus.

With a number of sewer extension projects in the works, the board will consider establishing a project budget for those.

A modification to the lease for the cell tower site on Spoon Street with AT&T will be discussed as well.

After hearing a presentation several months ago about the possibility of building a YMCA in town, the commissioners tonight will discuss findings of a site study regarding that proposed project.

Also, traffic options for South White Street and Tinker Dam Avenue are on the agenda, as is a request for funding from the Dobson Youth Basketball League.

In closing, the board will hear grant updates and discuss general town business.
