Thomas and Amanda Lester of Cana, Va., announce the birth of their son, Daniel Jackson Lester, on Dec. 10, 2009, at Northern Hospital of Surry County, Mount Airy, weighing 8 pounds, 2.5 ounces.

Daniel’s grandparents are Wanda and Julian Brooks of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Rodney and Earlene Lester of Coeburn, Va. His great-grandmother is Mildred Horne of Coeburn.
