DOBSON — Mr. Jason Lee Barker, 31, loving husband of Mrs. Angie Mae Barker, passed away peacefully on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center as his family surrounded his bedside. He was born in Surry County on Nov. 3, 1978, to Andy Lee Barker and the late Mary Ann Edwards Masqueda. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, best friend and caregiver, Angie Mae Barker of the home; his father and stepmother, Andy Lee Barker and Carolyn Davis of Lowgap; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Melinda Barker and Jonathan and Julie Barker, all of Mount Airy; his mother-in-law, Pansy Easter; five nieces and nephews, Destiny, Dekota, Desiray, Timmy and Jacob; and special friends, David Martinez, Robert Simmons and J.J. Galyean. Waiting to greet him at Heaven’s gates were his mother; a daughter, Jada Breanah Barker; a son, Gabriel Eden Barker; a stepdaughter, Amber Dawn Hall; and his grandfather, Eugene Edwards. His funeral service will be held on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at 3 p.m. at Welcome Valley Baptist Church by Brother Timmy Jo Jenkins and the Rev. Jason Johnson with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 2 p.m. until the hour of the service.
