The Trailblazers were without two starters, but Surry still showed itself to be the stronger team, as it jumped out to a 37-12 halftime lead and never looked back.
Offensively, Surry coach John Peters said his team showed good patience in the half court.
“We moved the ball around really, really well,” he said. “We have worked hard to pass it around instead of taking one pass and a shot.”
Peters said his team is still a work in progress, particularly on the offensive side, but that Friday showed the Runnin’ Pats their potential.
“It was a good win for us,” Peters said. “We are still learning and still growing and getting better and learning how to play in our offense. It was a good chance to get some of the other ladies who don’t get a lot of playing time some good practical game experience.”
Surry improves to 10-1 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
