ELKIN — The Surry County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a home invasion and robbery that occurred Tuesday shortly before 2:30 p.m. in the Elkin area of the county.

Sheriff Graham Atkinson said two sisters living on Brookfall Dairy Road reported that four or five armed black men had forced their way into their home, taken their phone so they could not call for help, then stole their television and other items.

The men, who were dressed in black, loaded the items into a long-bed, full-size pickup, possibly a Ford, and fled the scene traveling back toward U.S. 21. A neighbor reported the pickup was white with red trim and may have had an extended cab.

No one was injured in the incident and one of the women went to a neighbor’s home to use a phone and report the incident.

Atkinson asked that anyone who may have seen the pickup or have any information about the incident please contact the Surry County Sheriff’s Office at 401-8900.
