Their home is known as the old Jack Warren home. The Prestons moved to Mount Airy recently from Murfreesboro, Tenn.
The home features hardwood floors with the exception of the entrance and the kitchen. The entrance is the original brick foyer, and the kitchen, which has been updated, is tiled.
The home’s master bedroom and bath is on the main floor and shares a coal-burning fireplace with the living room. A curved staircase leads visitors upstairs to two additional bedrooms and one bathroom. The home also has the original beadboard walls.
The Prestons have decorated their home with natural greenery, gingerbread decorations and Byer’s Choice carolers.
Visitors to the home need to park at the Rockford Street United Methodist Church at 520 Rockford St., and walk a short distance to the home.
The tour is on Dec. 5 and 6. Tickets for the event are $10 and the tour is self-guided. Tickets are available at the Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce, at the Gertrude Smith House, by calling Betty Wright at 786-4512, or at the individual’s homes on the days of the tours.
