Bannertown Baptist Church and its interim pastor, the Rev. Milton Sewell, will host a special multi-denominational Thanksgiving worship service this Wednesday at 7 p.m.
Churches from all denominations are invited to attend, and Dr. David Sparks, pastor of Flat Rock Pentecostal Holiness Church, will deliver the sermon. Pastors from other denominations will also take part in the service.
Music will be provided by Bannertown Baptist Church with the congregation joining in the singing of some of the church’s familiar Thanksgiving hymns.
The Rev. Bob Josey, the president of the Mount Airy Ministerial Association, said he is looking forward to the event.
“We greatly appreciate this church’s invitation to join them in this special time of worship and praise to thank God for the many wonderful gifts he has given to us. Please try to join us and bring friends with you to join together in Christian worship and fellowship,” said Josey.
Josey said during the last ministerial meeting, it was decided to eliminate this year’s special Sunday night before Thanksgiving worship service.
“So this will be the only community Thanksgiving service this year involving the ministerial association. We hope everyone will come out and join us,” Josey said.
