Sales totaled 798 head, including cattle (763), goats (34) and hogs (1) during Tuesday’s sales at Mount Airy Stockyards Inc.

Animals sold on the livestock market, based on 100-pound weights, were:

n Slaughter cows: breakers, utility and commercial, $40-$49; cutter and boning, $32-$57; canner and low cutter, $22-$48.

n Slaughter bulls: 1,000-1,500 pounds, $52-$57; 1,500 pounds and up, $56-$64.

n Stock cows: 1,050 pounds and up, (M1 & M2) $450-$740.

n Cow/calf pairs: none.

n Baby calves: none.

n Feeder steers and bulls: 200-300 pounds, (M1) $94-$116; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $84-$97.50; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $74-$93; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $73.50-$88; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $73.50-$83; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $61-$79.50.

n Feeder heifers: 200-300 pounds, (small frame) $74-$79; 300-400 pounds, (M1) $76-$83; 400-500 pounds, (M1) $73-$76.50, (small frame) $72-$76; 500-600 pounds, (M1) $69.75-$73.50; 600-700 pounds, (M1) $64-$75; 700 pounds and up, (M1) $55.50-$60.
