This week “North Carolina Weekend,” which airs on UNC-TV, will feature a segment on Mount Airy.

The show will air on Thursday at 9 p.m. and Friday at 8 p.m. The Mount Airy segment will feature information and footage on the North Carolina Granite Quarry, Mount Airy Museum of Regional History, Squad Car Tours, downtown shopping, history of the town, and more.

John Litschke of J. Martin Productions, Inc. filmed the segment in mid-September. He came to Mount Airy to film places and people of interest. Litschke said then that the show has many followers and usually generates much interest in the areas it showcases.

Segments on “North Carolina Weekend” generally last for four to five minutes. The show lasts for 30 minutes.

“North Carolina Weekend” is a weekly show on UNC-TV that showcases different places to visit around the state. It airs on Thursdays at 9 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., and Saturdays at 10 a.m. The segments are often repeated throughout the year.
