RIO RANCHO, N.M. — Mrs. Lelia Mae Dawson Moore, 92, of Rio Rancho, passed away Sunday, Oct. 4, 2009, in Albuquerque. Mrs. Moore was born in Patrick County, Va., April 8, 1917, to Alfred and Emma Hall Dawson. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister and was a retired beautician. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Morgan of the home; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Iris Willis of Portsmouth, Va.; and brother and sisters-in-law, Everette and Antoinette Dawson and Gladys Dawson, all of Ararat, Va. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by her husband, Casey Moore; a daughter, Darlene Johnson; one grandchild, Brent Morgan; sisters, Myrtle Marshall, Ruth Ferguson, Laura McMillian, Esther Mayes and Elsie Marshall; and brothers, Howard Dawson, Harry Dawson, Amos Dawson and Winfred Dawson. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, 2009, at Mount Bethel Moravian Graveyard, conducted by the Rev. Lowell Willis. There will not be a formal visitation at the funeral home.
