DOBSON — Just when it looked like Surry Central would get the sweep of South Stokes, the Sauras showed signs of life. That was no problem for the Golden Eagles, who rebounded from a third-set loss to pull out the 3-1 victory over visiting South Stokes Tuesday.

The Golden Eagles won the first two sets, including a 25-10 drubbing in the second. However, the Sauras made a match of it with a 25-22 win in the third set. Central responded with a match-clinching 25-21 victory in the next set.

Michaela Wall harassed the Sauras at the net and led her team with 11 kills, followed by Brittany Tolbert with nine and Jennifer Coe with six. Lauren Key had 14 assists, while Alysha Shelton registered 21 digs.

The Golden Eagles travel to Alleghany today before hosting North Stokes Thursday.
