KING—Mrs. Eleanor Nelson, 82, of King, passed away on, Friday, Sept. 25, 2009 at Universal Health Care. Mrs. Nelson was born in Surry County on Dec. 2, 1926 to the late Henry Edmonds and Luna Whitt. Mrs. Nelson worked as a housewife and was a member of Friendly Tabernacle Church. Mrs. Nelson is survived by two sons, Ronnie Nelson of Westfield and David Nelson of Siloam; three daughters and son-in-law, Sylvia Knight of Westfield, Doris (Howard) Bond of Westfield, Peggy N. Lawson of King; one brother, Arville Edmonds; eight grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Proceeding in death are her husband, Curtis Nelson; and two sons, Harold Nelson and Donnie Nelson. A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with the Rev. Roby Wilcox and the Rev. Eugene Brinkley officiating with interment to follow at Pine Hill Friends Meeting Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Universal Health Care of King. Cox-Needham Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain is assisting the Nelson family.
