n The Joseph Roy Kirkman Teacher Scholarship Foundation for Surry Community College will be held at Jomeokee Park, Pinnacle, in memory of a 30-year teacher for Surry County Schools. This is a festival event including live bands, children’s games, 50/50 cash drawing, food, vendors, fireworks and ticket giveaways.
n A benefit for Tasha McMillian, daughter of Troy “T.H.” and Sheryl, will be held at Webb Community Center, U.S. 52, Cana, Va. n St. Paul School’s Library and Yearbook clubs will be having a basket bingo in the school’s cafeteria in Cana, Va. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the bingo will begin at 7 p.m. Door prizes will be given away between games. Hot dogs, drinks, nachos and cheese and desserts will be available.
