Mike and Debbie Worrell of 308 Holly Hill Drive, Mount Airy, announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Michelle Worrell, to Kevin Lee Shough, son of Roger and Dot Shough of 427 Massey Road, Stuart, Va.

The bride-elect graduated from Mount Airy High School in 2002, Forsyth Technical Community College with an associate degree in nursing in 2005 and from Winston-Salem State University with a bacholor of science in nursing in 2007. She is a registered nurse at Northern Hospital of Surry County and Joan and Howard Woltz Hospice Home.

The bridegroom graduated from Patrick County High School in 2001 and Patrick Henry Community College with an associate degree in industrial electronic technology in 2003. He is employeed by Leistritz Advanced Turbine Components as a Test Equipment Operator.

The couple is planning a wedding for Oct. 24 at Flat Rock Baptist Church, Mount Airy.
