DOBSON — Thursday afternoon, the Surry County Sheriff’s Office reported the arrest of two men in connection with the investigation of the theft of two motorcycles in the Ararat community.

On July 23, the sheriff’s office received a report of two motorcycles being stolen from 176 Tall Oaks Trail, Pilot Mountain.

As officers began their investigation they received information that a possible suspect had been seen in the area in possession of a motorcycle fitting the description of one of those reported stolen.

Sheriff’s deputies followed the information that led them to 524 Old Creed Road, Mount Airy, the home of Sean Christopher Creed. As one of the officers approached the door, he smelled a strong odor of marijuana. Inside the residence, officers located Creed and Jeremy Brent Harvey.

Both Creed and Harvey were detained as officers continued the investigation. As officers continued a search of the area, they located the stolen motorcycles in an outbuilding.

Both Creed and Harvey were arrested at the scene.

Sean Christopher Creed, 21, of 524 Creed Road, Mount Airy, was charged with two counts of larceny of motor vehicle, two counts of felony possession of stolen property. Possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and communicating threats to one of the arresting officers. His bond is set at $12,000.

Harvey was charged with one count each of possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. His bond is set at $2,500.
