The paving of parking areas and roadways inside the park has been scheduled as part of a facelift occurring in conjunction with a streambank-restoration project along the nearby Ararat River.
But after announcing the park’s closing two times earlier as a safety precaution related to the work, city recreation officials said the project has had to be put off in each instance due to rain. Surface conditions must maintain a certain dryness level in order for paving to occur.
It is hoped that the weather will cooperate and allow the job to be finished today, with any further closings at the park to be announced.
