Things didn’t go so well for Surry County’s two remaining Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth League 12-and-under state-title tournament representatives Monday, with both West Surry and Surry Central meeting elimination after strong prelimanary showings.

After winning in dramatic fashion Sunday on a Cory Anderson walk-off homerun, Bunker Hill dispatched West Surry 10-4 Monday to end its season.

At Millenium Charter Academy, Mountain View sent home Surry Central 4-1, after Central entered into the tournament by garnering the National League wild-card spot with a with a 2-2 record.

Union County then defeated Mountain View 5-4 in a tight contest later in the day to advance to the finals after having a first round bye for being the American League champion.

Bunker Hill then met Stewards to fight it out for the last spot in the finals, the score of which was unavailable as of press time.

The finals will be held at Graham Field today at 6:30 p.m.
