The bride-elect is the granddaughter of the late L.T. and Effie Reid of Greensboro and Chun Chong of Greensboro and the late Sang Yul Chong. She graduated as valedictorian at East Davidson High School and received a bachelor’s degree in music education from Appalachian State University, where she was a North Carolina Teaching Fellow and graduated magna cum laude. She is working on a master’s degree in music education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Mongolia. She is employed by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools as a music teacher.
The prospective bridegroom is the grandson of Doris Jarrell and the late Oval Jarrell and Delia Sechrest and the late Arnold Sechrest, all of Mount Airy. He graduated from Mount Airy High School and Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah, with a bachelor’s degree in graphic design. He was employed at LogoWorks in Orem before moving back to North Carolina. Ethan served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in southern California.
The couple will be married on Aug. 1 in the Raleigh North Carolina Temple.
