Julie Dawn Marion and Carl Brian Goodwin were married April 25 in Salem Baptist Church, Dobson. Dr. Bobby Lewis Jr. officiated.

The bride is the daughter of Jim and Effie Marion of Mount Airy. She is a senior contracts analyst with ICON Clinical Research, Durham.

The bridegroom is the son of Carl and Margaret Goodwin of Raleigh. He is a captain with the Raleigh Durham Airport Authority Emergency Services Department.

The wedding music was presented by Lori Wilmoth and Cindy Lewis. The bride surprised the bridegroom with a special song, “I’ve Dreamed of You,” during the lighting of the unity candle.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Donna Bryant of Raleigh. The maid of honor was Hannah LaCava, niece of the bride, of Raleigh. The bridesmaids were Anne Byrd of Cary; and Shannon Ford and Beth Green, both of Raleigh.

The best men were the bridegroom’s son, Brandon Goodwin, and his father, Carl Goodwin, both of Raleigh. The groomsmen were Edward Dew of Raleigh; Joel Goodwin, brother of the bridegroom, of Raleigh; Paul Strickland of Durham; and nephews of the bride, Chris Bryant of Midlothian, Va.; and J.D. Marion and Michael Marion, both of Cary.

Guest register attendants were Meredith Goodwin, sister-in-law of the bridegroom, and Barry Hodges.

The wedding was directed by Brooke Worsley and Pam Snow.

A reception followed in the church multi-purpose building.

The bridal couple later departed on a wedding trip to Ocho Rios, Jamaica. They reside in Raleigh.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bridegroom’s parents at Salem Baptist Church.
