The senior and freshman associate degree nursing classes, and the practical nursing classes were shown appreciation with cakes, beverages, decals, banners and bulletin boards on May 5 and 6, at the beginning of the week. The week concludes on May 12, which is Florence Nightingale’s birthday.
Often described as an art and a science, nursing is a profession that embraces dedicated people with varied interests, strengths and passions, because of the many opportunities the profession offers. Nurses work in emergency rooms, school-based clinics, homeless shelters, hospices, and education — just to name a few of the many employment opportunities for nurses.
Carol Bole states, “Nursing epitomizes Winston Churchill’s quote, ‘We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.’”
