May 3-9 is National Teacher Appreciation Week, and.we would like to take this opportunity to say “thank you” to all of the dedicated people in the Mount Airy City School system that touch and enrich the lives of children. They have a profound impact on what our future citizens will become. Their love of teaching and guiding children instills in our students the desire to become lifelong learners. It is a goal that is accomplished every single day and week that goes by.
They nurture, correct, love, care for and (last but not least) teach every child that enters one of our buildings each and every day. They also go above and beyond the call of duty, with extracurricular activities, coaching, mentoring and writing grants to mention a few. As members of the Mount Airy City Schools Board of Education, we applaud them all. They are what makes Mount Airy City Schools one of the very best school systems in the state.
From the time our students get on the bus in the morning until the time they return home in the afternoon, parents can be assured that their children are cared for. There is a lot to be said for that. Thank you, teachers of Mount Airy City Schools, not just for doing a great job during National Teacher Appreciation week, but every week all year long.
