MOUNT AIRY — Michael Kessey Dehart, 19, of Mount Airy, passed away Saturday, April 18, 2009. Michael was a former student at Surry Central High School. Surviving are his mother and stepfather, Katina Lynn Mabe Tilley and husband David of Mount Airy; his father and stepmother, Elber Kessey Dehart and wife Sherrie of Mount Airy; sisters, Kayla Dehart, Stephanie Dehart, Michelle Utt and Madison Gillespie, all of Mount Airy; a brother, Matthew Gillespie also of Mount Airy; a stepsister, Keisha Johnston of Mount Airy; grandparents, William Mabe of Zebulon and Pat Simmons of Danbury; and stepgrandmother, Vera Parson of Mount Airy. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, at Salem Baptist Church on Rockford Road in Dobson, conducted by the Rev. Bobby Lewis. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
