Surry County Sheriff Graham Atkinson said Friday detectives with his office, in a joint effort with Pilot Mountain Police Department, a State Bureau of Investigation agent and a North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement officer arrested convicted sex offender Terry Christopher Speaks of 313 West Main Street, Pilot Mountain.
He was charged with failure to report as a sex offender, a sex offender residence violation and living within 300 feet of a place that supervises minors. A $25,000 secured bond was set.
