The Northwest Conference announced its all-conference team Friday night after Bishop McGuinness won the tourney final.

East Surry led with three players selected, while Mount Airy, North Surry and Surry Central had two players each honored.

That gave the four local schools nine of the 15 spots on the first team.

Along with Fulp, East’s Gabi Jessup and Sydney Mosley were named.

Kristina Rumplasch and Malaya Johnson were selected for North Surry.

Cassidy Joyner and Courtney Hegler got the nod for Surry Central.

Mount Airy’s Alex Atkins and Kathryn Beasley got the coaches’ votes for first team.

North Stokes, last in the conference, didn’t have a player selected, and West Stokes and Winston-Salem Prep had just one player each.

The rest of the first team are: Bishop McGuinness’ Julia Brown and Cameron Nieters; South Stokes’ Kelli Mounce and Hannah Wood; Prep’s Kyala Searcy; and West Stokes’ Chris Madigan.

The conference named 16 players to the second team. East Surry and South Stokes had one, while the other seven teams had two players each.

For the Lady Cardinals, it was senior Lauren Thompson.

For Mount Airy, the players were Davi Barbour and Symone Simmons.

Maddison Hawks and Erin March were selected for North Surry.

Sarah Bruce and Tess Dockery were honored for Surry Central.

The rest of the team are: Bishop McGuinness’ Tia Cappuccio and Olivia DeFrancesco, North Stokes’ Hannah McBride and Heather Nall, South Stokes’ Shay Hampton, West Stokes’ Makala Bozman and Abby Harris, and Winston-Salem Prep’s Kayla Robinson and Celia Tibbs.
