FANCY GAP, Va. — Violet May McCraw Hall, 95, of Fancy Gap, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2013, at her daughter’s home in Mounty Airy. Mrs. Hall was born in Carroll County to the late Daniel Jesse and Lela Frances Leftwich McCraw. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard W. Hall; and two sons, Roby E. Hall and Saford H. Hall Sr. Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Faye H. Burcham of Mocksville, N.C., Pearl and Curtis Lineberry of Austinville, Bonnie and Melvin Goad of Salem, Goldie and Ronnie Horton of Hillsville and June and Jonas Pike of Mount Airy; son and daughter-in-law, Clifford and Lorraine Hall of Hillsville; daughters-in-law, Polly Hall of Copper Hill and Ima Lindsey of Hillsville; special caregiver, Joann Dearmon of Mount Airy; 23 grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 22 stepgreat-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013, at 1 p.m. at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with the Rev. James Witten officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated; however, donations may be made to Mountain Valley Hospice, 401 Technology Lane, Suite 200, Mount Airy, NC 27030.
