Arrests

The following arrests have been reported by the Surry County Sheriff’s office:

• On Feb. 11, Daniel Taylor Inman, 20, of East Cleve Street in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with the larceny of a firearm, breaking and entering and accessory after the fact to larceny. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $6,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 11, William Michael Hazelwood, 16, of McMillian Lane in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with the larceny of a dog. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $1,000 bond.

• On Feb. 11, Therman Kenny Largen II, 20, of Springview Court in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with injury to personal property, three counts of the larceny of a firearm and two counts of larceny after breaking and entering. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 10, Brittany Nicole King, 22, of Catfish Trail in Lowgap, was arrested and charged with felony larceny, the possession of stolen property and failure to appear on a misdemeanor larceny charge. She was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 8, Johnny Ray Bowman, 44, of Ash Hill Road in Ararat, was arrested and charged with trafficking in methamphetamine. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

• On Feb. 7, Justin Shane Atkins, 22, of West Lebanon Street in Mount Airy, was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, felony larceny and the possession of stolen property. He was booked into the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond.

Incidents

The following incidents are being investigated by the Surry County Sheriff’s office:

• On Feb. 10, Dennis Ray Hubbard, 53, of South Main Street in Mount Airy, reported the theft of a cell phone valued at $99 from his home.

• On Feb. 10, Steve Wayne Driver, 64, of Blevins Store Road in Mount Airy, reported that someone damaged his mailbox post. The damage was valued at $25.

• On Feb. 9, Bruce Everette Simmons, 56, of Faye Court in King, reported that someone broke into a storage building on his property. No items were listed as missing, but the damage to the structure was valued at $200.

• On Feb. 9, Ricky Darnell France, 53, of Windwood Trail in Mount Airy, reported that someone broke into his home and took two handguns, a 9 mm Walther and a .22 revolver, valued at $900.

• On Feb. 9, Mark Joseph Harris, 30, of Welcome Ridge Trail in Elkin, reported the loss of a Springfield Arms .40 caliber pistol valued at $400. The victim told police he doesn’t know whether he lost the handgun or it has been stolen.

• On Feb. 8, Vinie Penn Strickland, 63, of Shropshire Lane in Mount Airy, reported that someone opened a cell phone account under his name.

• On Feb. 8, employees with Bank of America on Forkner Drive in Mount Airy, reported that someone took a heating unit and a well pump from their property. The items have a listed value of $3,000.
