To Chet Jessup, for organizing a police officer memorial walk, and to those who turn out for the event this morning. The walk is to remember and honor Pilot Mountain police officers Glenn Branscome and Ralph East, who were killed 44 years ago while in the performance of their work as public servants. Even though their deaths were more than four decades ago, family and community still mourn their loss, and it is appropriate to continue to honor them.
