Mrs. Lula Mae Ring Brown, age 85, of Mount Airy, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013 at Central Continuing Care. She was born on February 12, 1927 in Surry County to the late Woolsey and Lula Key Ring. Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and was a member of Stanford United Methodist Church. Mrs. Brown is survived by two nieces, JoAnn Dezern of Siloam and Carolyn Scott of Charlotte; two nephews and their spouses, Arnold and Dorothy Eads of Siloam and Jimmy and Phyllis Eads of Pilot Mountain. Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by her husband Fred “Mousie” Brown, her parents; sisters, Ozell Whitaker and Pearl Eads; nephews, Bobby Eads and Allen Whitaker; niece, Gay Snow. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, January 27, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home with the Rev. Will Eads, the Rev. Ted Turman, and the Rev. Clayton Tilley officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Hill Friends Church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 26, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Staff of Central Continuing Care and Mountain Valley Hospice and Palliative Care.
