He practices nephrology at Winston Salem and has been a physician assistant for 33 years. He is employed by Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center and has worked with Dr. John Burkart for the past five years.
Marion earned the recognition due to his contributions to patient care and the profession during his years as a physician assistant. He also demonstrated significant dedication and involvement in the community of Mount Airy. He has volunteered at Surry Medical Ministries, past member of Rotary International and member of Gideons International.
Marion has served in the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants in multiple positions including president. He said that the accomplishment he is most proud of is that his son, Wade Ashley Marion, followed him into the profession of physician assistant, and his son has also served as president of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants.
Previously Wade Marion was employed at Medical Associates of Surry. He received his training in the U.S. Navy and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He served as a physician assistant for 13 years in the Navy before retiring to return home to Mount Airy.
