Mrs. Dora Boles Easter, 81 of Mount Airy passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston Salem. She was born in Stokes County on August 1, 1931 to the late William and Alpha Shelton Owens. Mrs. Easter was retired from Cross Creek Apparel and was a member of Simmons Grove Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Roy Easter of the home; a daughter, Rita Martin of Mount Airy; a son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Sandra Boles of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren; Cindy (Mark) Sprinkle, Chris Martin, Kimberly Holt, Wendy Mauck; five great grandchildren, Jeremy Sprinkle, Nathan Sprinkle, Jackson Holt, Kelsey Holt, Aaron Mauck; two sisters, Alma Dunkley of Westfield and Nellie Boles of Pilot Mountain. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Easter was preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Boles; two sisters, and one brother. Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Simmons Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Stewart Mauck and Rev. Alan Branch officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service at the church. Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Simmons Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Junior Stephens 109 Sapphire Ln., Pilot Mountain, NC 27041 or to American Bible Society P.O. Box 96812 Washington, DC 20090-6812. Her body will remain at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy until carried to the church to lie-in-state from 2:00 until time of the service at the church.
