The Easter egg hunt will begin promptly at 2 p.m. at Veterans Memorial Park. All dogs must have proof of vaccinations before entering the event.
Admission is $5 per dog, humans are free. Retractable leashes will not be allowed.
Food and drinks will be available. There will be prizes and a 50/50 raffle. All of the proceeds go to benefit the Mayberry 4 Paws program. The Mayberry 4 Paws committee works to raise funds to supplement spay and neuter costs for dogs and cats which are adopted from the Surry Animal Shelter.
The group also put on the Bark in the Park event held in October at Veterans Park which was declared a huge success. The members plan to eventually build a dog park in Surry County.
The event is also sponsored by Big Lots and PetSense.
The rain date for the event is April 5.
