TORRANCE, Calif. — Jeanne Gwyn Pettyjohn, 78, died Dec. 2, 2012, in Torrance, Calif. She was born in Mount Airy on July 12, 1934, the daughter of Bruce and Alma Ring Gwyn. She was a 1952 graduate of Mount Airy High School and attended WC-UNC in Greensboro. Jeanne is survived by her daughter, Paige Pettyjohn Edley and husband, Richard M. Edley; and one grandson, Bruce Edley, all of Los Angeles. There will be a memorial service in California this week and another service in Mount Airy at a later date. Memorial may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 1909 N. Main St., Mount Airy, NC 27030.
