Mrs. Marie Ann Key, age 54, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Northern Hospital of Surry County. She was born on March 15, 1958 in Surry County to the late Henry James and Ethel Marie Wall Shinault.

Mrs. Key worked as a farmer and was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Key is survived by her husband, Everette Key of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Henry and KerryAnne Key of Pilot Mountain; one daughter and son-in-law, Crystal and Thomas Atkins of Pilot Mountain; five grandchildren, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Key, Carla Renee Phillips, Brianna Nicole Key, Mary Lou Faith Atkins and Tyler Everette Key; two step-grandchildren, Paul Atkins and Anna Atkins; three brothers, Calvin Shinault of Pilot Mountain, Roy Shinault of Mount Airy, Clayton James Shinault of Dobson; three sisters, Teresa DeHart of Trap Hill, Patty Lou Smith of Robbins, NC and Thelma Mae Key of Pilot Mountain.

Mrs. Key was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Kenneth, Ronald and Donald Shinualt; and one sister, Franky Shelton.

The Graveside services was conducted on Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at DeHart Family Cemetery with Bro. Don Collins and Bro. Doug Cockerham officiating.

The family had received friends on from 9:00 to 10:00 AM prior to the service at Cox-Needham Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
