CANA, Va. — Mrs. Joy Lynette Gammons Leftwich, 45, of Cana, passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family Sunday, Nov. 11, 2012. Mrs. Leftwich was born in Surry County on Aug. 24, 1967, to Joyce Hamlin Gammons and the late Billy Rex Gammons. She is survived by her husband, Rudy Leftwich of the home; a daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Cody Quesenberry of Cana; sons, Cody Leftwich of the home, Tony Leftwich of Austin, Texas, and David Leftwich of Daytona, Fla.; grandchildren, Colton Quesenberry, Cortney Leftwich, Daniel Leftwich and Trevor Leftwich; a great-grandchild, Dustin Leftwich; a sister and brother-in-law, April and Jamie Jarrell of Mount Airy; a brother, Dale Gammons of Mount Airy; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Susie Woods. In addition to her father, Mrs. Leftwich was preceded in death by grandparents, Linnie Hamlin and Bill and Ethel Gammons. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Turkey Ford Baptist Church with the Rev. Buford Jessup officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
