Another game, another brilliant performance from Christian Easter. On Thursday, the Mount Airy ace fired a three-hitter — his second complete game of the season — and gave East Surry its first loss of the season.
Easter struck out 10 and walked three. In two games this season, Easter has allowed three hits and struck out six in his two starts.
“He’s done pretty good the first two games,” Mount Airy coach Mack Hodges said.
Cody Easter supplied the offense, going 2-for-3 with a two-run double, as well as a single that drove in two. Andrew Pelfry added the other Granite Bears run with an RBI single.
East Surry’s Brett Smith belted a pair of doubles. The Cardinals fell to 4-1 overall and 1-1 in the Northwest 1-A.
Mount Airy (3-2, 2-1) returns to action Tuesday when it visits North Stokes.
