PINNACLE — Mr. John Billy Midkiff, 80, of Pinnacle, passed away on Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center. He was born on Sept. 22, 1932, in Cumberland County, Va., to the late Joseph Percey and Myrtle Inman Midkiff. Mr. Midkiff retired from Westinghouse and was a member of Olive Grove Baptist Church . He was a deacon and Sunday school teacher for 60 years. Mr. Midkiff is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Lillian Coon Midkiff of the home; two daughters, Mickey ( Roy ) Willard and Sandra Midkiff Marion; four grandsons, Richard (Shannon ) Willard, Eric (Amy) Willard, Anthony (Kristyl) Hall and Jason S. Hall; 11 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Donnie Joe Midkiff. Mr. Midkiff was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie M. Wall; and one brother, Burley Midkiff. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Olive Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Mitch Robertson, Dr. Jeff Midkiff and Dr. Carl Childs officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
