• A Vespa moped with a leather seat, valued at $7,500, was discovered missing from a Mount Airy residence Tuesday, according to city police department reports. The theft occurred at the home of Juan Sanchez Juarez on Sunset Drive.

• Kayla Faye Mayes, 21, of 3401 Old Vineyard Road, Winston-Salem, was cited for larceny Wednesday at Walmart. She allegedly attempted to leave the store without paying for clothing items valued at $64, which were recovered. Mayes is facing a Dec. 4 appearance in Surry District Court.

• Police were told Wednesday that $60 had been stolen from an unsecured office at a YVEDDI (Yadkin Valley Economic Development District Inc.) facility on Jones School Road.

• Linda Daye George, 34, of 240 Starlite Road, was arrested Wednesday on an outstanding warrant for an assault and battery charge which had been filed on Sept. 18, after being encountered by police in reference to a 911 hang-up call. Patricia Gail Duncan of Old U.S. Highway 601 is the complainant in the assault case, for which George was held in the county jail under a $1,000 secured bond and is slated to appear in court on Nov. 16.

• The license plate of a vehicle owned by Vickie Venable Snow, a Fowler Road resident, was reported stolen Wednesday. The theft occurred while it was unattended in a parking area of Mayberry Motor Inn on North Andy Griffith Parkway. Neither the plate number nor type of vehicle involved was listed.

• Anthony Clark Garrett, 51, of 106 Starlite Road, was cited for larceny Tuesday, with Amanda Dawn Gammons of The Shoe Department in Mayberry Mall the complainant. Garrett, who was detained near Dollar General in the Thruway Shopping Center nearby and positively identified in the larceny case, is accused of taking items valued at $80, which were recovered. He is scheduled to be in District Court next Wednesday.
