The North Carolina Department of Insurance earlier this week announced the grant for $1,695.94 to the department, with the money to be paired with matching funds to buy needed equipment.
“Fire and rescue organizations protect our communities large and small across North Carolina, but sometimes their budgets don’t grow with their responsibilities,” said Insurance Commissioner and State Fire Marshal Wayne Goodwin. “Our emergency service personnel should be supported with the best equipment and supplies needed to do their jobs correctly and safely.”
According to Goodwin’s office, Pine Ridge has now received $133,795.38 from the Volunteer Fire Department Fund over the past 22 years.
