To the Editor,

My husband and I recently moved to the Shoals area of Surry County. In our real estate search, I used the Register of Deeds Office on-line system to research the property we were considering.

After searching for land in adjacent counties for over two years, I can testify that the Surry County Register of Deeds Office provided absolutely the best services of any of the others. We have a first class system. I learned later that the efficient, modern, helpful department we have today has been led by Carolyn Comer, the Register of Deeds, for a number of years.

I was surprised to learn that this is an elected position, due to the skills involved. By re-electing Ms. Comer, Surry County residents will be sure that our property records are organized, protected and easy to access when needed.

Remember, with new blood in that office, you may get a Super Dooper web page and get the dead voters cleaned off the voter rolls. Conservative voters take notice. My choice will be Mr. Todd Harris. He has been bashed by the Liberal Left and some Rino so called Republicans. I have met Todd and he always shoots from the hip and has never lied to me.He is a people person and will bring a glowing change to the Register of Deeds office, I'm sure. Re-electing a long time Candidate is not your best choice everytime.

It's not the Register of Deed's job to clean dead voters off the voter rolls. Get your facts straight and perhaps your comments will be viewed with an ounce of credibility.

I'm a Republican, but my greatest worry is the Republican county commissioners that have allowed commissioner Johnson to create jobs for his own family members. His brother has been a dog catcher. He has family members that have worked or are working for veterans, ems, landfill, and the parks dept. Too many other citizens need jobs.
