ARARAT — Mr. Woodrow Manford Buelin, 89, of Ararat, passed away at Heritage Care of Elkin on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012. He was born in Surry County on May 19, 1923, to the late Virgil Lee Buelin and Mary Eunice Brown Buelin. He was retired from Spencer’s and a member of Blackwater Community Church. Woodrow was a humble Christian man who dearly loved his family. He loved to write poems and songs. His home was filled with laughter and love. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lillie Ann Woods Buelin of the home; two daughters, Carol Stimpson of Pinnacle and Diane Buelin of Winston-Salem; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Dot Bullin of Ararat, Kenneth and Anita Bullin of Ararat, Rex Buelin of Statesville, Terry and Ellen Bullin of Ararat and Dennis and Carolyn Bullin of Dobson; grandchildren, Teresa and John Martin, Jonah and Janet Buelin, Angie and Brandon Palmer, Travis and Hope Bullin, Jennifer and Michael Biesecker, Paul and Casey Buelin, Sarah Edwards, Hannah and T.J. Jones, Joseph Bullin, Rachel and Kevin Pace, Deborah and Richard Jackson, Jeremy Bullin, Dixie Bullin and Sheila and Jerry White; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Faye McDaniel of Winston-Salem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Charlie Buelin, Floyd Buelin and Elbert Buelin; and two sisters, Maggie Hinson and Ida Jones. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Blackwater Community Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ted Crotts, the Rev. Frank Danley and the Rev. Timmy Crotts will conduct the service. The family will receive friends on Monday at Moody Davis Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times the home of his son, Kenneth Bullin. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to the United Hospice, 902 W. D. St., Suite B, North Wilkesboro, NC 28659. Moody-Davis Funeral Home in Dobson is serving the Buelin family.
