ELKIN — Mr. James Robert White, 89, of Elkin, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Surry County on Jan. 14, 1923, to the late Emory Zachery and Nannie Dudley White. Mr. White was a retired operating engineer for Fletcher-Cramer in New Jersey after many years of service and a dedicated member of Welcome View Baptist Church as long as his health permitted. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 66 years, Mrs. Eva Nettie Lusardi White of the home; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Robert Daniel and Debbie White of Bricktown, N.J., Wayne White of Elkin and Ricky and Jennifer White also of Elkin; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Victoria Stanley of Elkin; and a brother and sister-in-law, Roger Lee and Betty White, also of Elkin. In addition to his parents, Mr. White was preceded in death by two sons, Larry James White and Frank Magliocco; two sisters, Stella Dockery and Lula Haynes; and a brother, Billy White. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, in the chapel of Moody-Davis Funeral Home by the Rev. Marty Reeves and the Rev. Mickey Brooks.
