LAMBSBURG, Va. — The Lambsburg Community Center has a new addition following the construction of a walking trail on the community center property.

The walking trail resulted as a grant from the Virginia Foundation for Healthy Youth and the Twin County Healthy Communities Action Team. Nicole Terry submitted the original application as a Girl Scout project and received the initial funding.

The project was done by Granite City Paving under the auspices of Brian Rotenizer.

The 824-foot trail runs behind the community center and is parallel to a nearby creek. The route is short, but it gives the community a beautiful, serene walking trail with two strenuous inclines.

The community center is hoping to be able to add to the trail in the future, according to Phillip Berrier, chairman of the LCC board.

“The LCC is excited about this addition to our facilities as we endeavor for a healthier community; and, we invite everyone to make use of the trail when they visit the community center,” Berrier said.
